Camp Matawa Family Weekends are the perfect break from the hustle and bustle of every day! Read what one of our participants had to say after a weekend at camp with his son:
"We found a real gem in the woods this weekend up near Kewaskum, WI. This was the weekend of Parent/Child Camp for Caleb and me at Camp Matawa and we had so much fun. If you've never gone you are really missing one the YMCA's best assets. We arrived Friday night and after getting settled into our cabin we met and played some games designed to get to know the other campers. We also had Smores around the campfire and sang some really fun songs. "Caleb the Character" (his name after the get to know you games earlier in the evening) normally a shy kid around strangers was really open and outgoing this weekend! After a good night sleep we were ready for Saturday and the agenda of activities that our leader "Awesome Annie" had planned for us; we did canoeing, fishing, archery, archery golf, rock wall climbing, horseback riding with "Super Savannah", a wagon ride, a camp wide scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, ga ga ball and eating. We had great food at every meal with a wide variety of healthy choices to choose from. I was able to make it to the top of the rock climbing wall and Caleb was so close to making it to the top, it was by far the best he has ever done. It may have been the busiest 36 hours the two of us have ever spent together. It also may be the first time we had that kind of experience together now that I think of it. This Parent/Child weekend camp has to be one of the best kept secrets at Camp Matawa. It was truly a great experience for everyone in attendance, one that I am so glad that Caleb and I got to enjoy together. So what I'm saying is next year when the schedules for this diamond in the woods (Camp Matawa) come out, GO GO GO! You and your kids won't regret a minute of it! Hope to see you there!"

Grandparent Camp
May 11-12, 2012
Ages 5 and older
Enjoy a beautiful day and night at camp with your grandchild! We'll have a variety of active and low key activites to meet the needs of everyone. Swim in the pool, try the climbing wall, archery, enjoy a fun arts and crafts project or a relaxing walk in the woods! All participants will enjoy meals featuring kid and adult friendly choices and will stay in our comfortable, air conditioned cabins with full bathrooms. What a wonderful way to connect with your pride and joy!

Mother/Daughter Weekend
June 1-3, 2012
Ages 5 and older
Reconnect with your daughter while enjoying the beautiful Kettle Moraine Forest and comfortable facilities at YMCA Camp Matawa. All of the food and activities are included in the fees. Enjoy a great weekend this summer with your family at Camp Matawa! Families will participate in a variety of activities including canoeing, mountain biking, archery, the climbing wall, family challenge games and more! We'll cook the meals and do the dishes-just come ready to have fun!
