YMCA Camp Matawa offers a variety of one and two week overnight programs for every child ages 7-15!
Campers are divided by age groups into three villages (Pioneer, Frontier and Trekker) each of which leads to a progressive experience at camp as campers grow.

Summer Camp Programs
Adventure Camp (ages 7-15)
Deposit $100- 1 week, $200- 2 week
Adventure Camp is where your child’s camping tradition begins! Our counselors focus on each individual camper, ensuring a great experience whether your child is a first time or seasoned camper. All campers are split by age into Villages, each with their own special activities and traditions. Your child will have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of age appropriate activities that are both fun and develop life-long friendships. Adventure programs, mountain biking, arts and crafts, nature, archery, skateboarding, canoeing, Alpine Tower, climbing wall and swimming are just some of the activities from which campers can choose. As a cabin group, campers and counselors will do activities as a cabin and a village and take part in all camp games! Adventure Camp is offered in both one and two week sessions.

Mini Sessions (ages 7-12)

This 4-day, 3-night program
is the ideal introduction to overnight
camping! Your child will get a great
taste of traditional camp activities,
plus the opportunity to make new
friends! Our caring, experienced
counselors will help make Mini
Session an extra special time.

Equestrian Camp (ages 10-15)
Deposit $100- 1 week, $200- 2 week
YMCA Camp Matawa’s Equestrian Camp is perfect for any horse lover who
also wants to experience the other traditions of camp! Each camper is assigned
a horse to ride and take care of for the whole week. This responsibility helps
build trust and confidence, while encouraging problem solving. Campers
spend half of the day in the barn enjoying general horse care, ring riding,
games on horseback, and trail riding. The rest of the day is spent in main
camp, participating in all the other great activities camp has to offer! Equestrian Camp is offered in both one and two-week sessions.

Advanced Equestrian (Ages 10-15)
Deposit $100- 1 week, $200- 2 week
A great opportunity for advanced
level riders to enhance their skills!
Your child can experience the
adventure and tranquility of more
than 30 miles of riding trails in the
Kettle Moraine State Forest. Our
goal is to develop a more relaxed,
confident rider and enhance
awareness of verbal and nonverbal
communication between horse
and rider. Evenings will be spent
participating in traditional camp
activities, including night games
and the ever-popular pool party.

Gone Fishing (ages 10-15)
Deposit $100- 1 week
Gone Fishing was made for kids who love to fish and also enjoy swimming,
climbing, archery, sports and more. They’ll have a ball fishing for pike, bass,
walleye and panfish. We even take a charter boat on Lake Michigan, angling
for giant salmon, steelhead and lake trout, plus try our luck on Mauthe
Lake and Long Lake. Your child brings their tackle, and we supply the bait
and instruction.

Ropes Challenge (ages 10-15)
Deposit $100- 1 week
There is no greater feeling than singing your favorite camp song from the top of the 50 foot Alpine Tower. In Ropes Challenge, campers set and achieve goals using our low ropes course, indoor climbing wall and Alpine Tower. They learn to tie knots, to belay, various climbing techniques, and proper use and care of equipment, all while working with others and having a blast!

CHOOSE THE PRICE TIER YOU CAN BEST AFFORD
We understand that different families have differing abilities to pay, so we use three pricing levels to better accommodate all financial
needs. Please consider selecting the highest tier you can afford to allow YMCA Camp Matawa to best stretch our funding and continue
to improve the quality of each camper’s experience.
• Price A reflects the full cost of camp.
• Price B is our subsidized rate for families finding the full cost out of their reach.
• Price C is further reduced for those families that find themselves in greater need this year.
Our Tiered Pricing Program in no way influences the experience your children will receive! Simply pick the fee that matches the needs of your family; no proof of income is required.

Summer Camp Add On Programs
Extend Your Stay (Ages 7-15)
One week not enough? Can’t seem to leave your second home? Why not take advantage of our “Extend your Stay” option? Offered at the conclusion of sessions 2, 4 and 6, campers choosing this option will participate in activities with campers who register for the two-week sessions. They will enjoy an exciting weekend of programming including hiking to Mauthe Lake and the general store for ice cream and miniature golf, a special pool party back at camp, and a relaxing evening with friends! Campers will check out of camp Sunday at 10:30am.
